Magnolia has acquired the rights to Arvin Tolentino, who is currently playing for Seoul SK Knights in the Korean Basketball League, averaging 11.8 points per game. The Hotshots traded William Navarro to Titan Ultra in exchange for the rights to Tolentino. Tolentino is still under contract with Seoul SK Knights, but he can join Magnolia anytime he gets a release from his Korean team. Navarro, on the other hand, left Magnolia to play for Busan KCC Egis in the KBL, but was released by the team after a subpar season, averaging 5.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 21 games. Navarro cannot easily return to the PBA due to the three-year ban imposed by the league on players who sign with overseas teams while having an existing offer from their PBA mother team.
